Hello
Caitlin Rockett is an award-winning journalist and communications strategist with a background in narrative reporting, environmental storytelling, and science communication. She launched her career at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where she wrote about scientific breakthroughs on some of the world’s fastest supercomputers. After five years at ORNL, she moved west to pursue a master’s in environmental journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder.

As a graduate student, she reported from Idaho and Arizona on the health care needs of wildland firefighters; documented the destruction of the world’s largest ivory stockpile at Denver’s Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge; and traveled to Cuba to chronicle a former Denver mayor pro-tem’s return to his birthplace after more than 50 years.
Caitlin went on to spend a decade at Boulder Weekly, reporting on the environment, local government, social equity, and the arts—eventually serving as editor-in-chief. Her writing has earned national and regional honors from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Association of Alternative Newsmedia.

After transitioning from newsroom leadership to public-sector communications, she worked with national laboratories and nonprofits to translate complex research and sensitive topics into accessible, impactful stories. Her work spans clean energy, transportation, public health, and community engagement.

Caitlin also paints. Mostly for herself. Watercolor, acrylic, oil, mixed media — whatever helps her think in color instead of words.
